Country: USA
Region: Santa Cruz
Type: Red Wine
Grape: Pinot Noir
Sourcing for this appelation blend is from Saveria Vineyard as well as the Ferrari Vineyard (formally Woodruff), each about 8 miles north of the Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Saveria is regularly harvested a full month after most of the Sonoma Coast and Russian River. Each vineyard is meticulously farmed organically.
The wine underwent primary fermentation using native yeats that included about 30% whole clusters. The grapes were pressed to barrel for native malolactic fermentation in neutral oak and spent 13 months in neutral French oak barrels.
A pretty wine that shows the fruitier, more forward side of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Aromas of red berries, earth, mushroom and herbs. Supple, with ripe fruit and plenty of backbone.
